About Me
About Mickey Lee
I’m Mickey Lee, a proud U.S. Navy veteran, first-time author, and longtime advocate for the values that help young people grow into confident, compassionate adults. I live in the beautiful state of Washington, where I enjoy the outdoors and remain actively involved in scouting and youth activities.
My connection to scouting began when I was a young Scout myself. Over the years, I became a Scout Master and later volunteered with my grandson’s Scout Pack. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with young people, encourage them to challenge themselves, and inspire them to become the best versions of themselves.
I also became a high school sports official, another role that has allowed me to connect with and positively influence young adults. I believe that young people need opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility, friendships, and strong personal values.
To me, scouting is about much more than learning to hike, swim, or sing around a campfire. It is about camaraderie, lifelong friendships, character, and becoming a better person. I believe every young person should have the opportunity to find a scouting experience that feels right for them, whether that means participating in a girls-only troop or a co-ed troop.
Through my writing and experiences, I hope to encourage families, educators, and young people to recognize the lasting impact that positive guidance, strong values, and meaningful experiences can have. My hope is that today’s youth will grow into happy, responsible adults who carry those values forward and pass them on to future generations.
